The 1-X400 series linear stroke piston-type pneumatic actuators are available in both double-acting and single-acting configurations. The blend of versatility and precision allows them to seamlessly integrate with linear stroke valves for both regulation and on-off control functions. Enhance their capabilities with accessories like pneumatic control valves, quick exhaust valves, and pneumatic actuators to achieve lightning-fast cutoffs. Choose from an impressive range of cutoff times, including 1S, 2S, 3S, and 4S, to meet the unique demands of your application.</sup>

Single-action (S.A.) actuators feature a design where a spring-opposed piston is activated by air pressure. This configuration provides the critical advantage of a simple fail-safe action. In scenarios of air pressure failure, the compressed spring load triumphs over the pressure load, moving the stem decisively to either open or close the valve port as per the specified fail-safe requirement. Additionally, they offer remarkable stability, ensuring consistent performance even when the load on the plug fluctuates. However, when compared to double-action (D.A.) actuators, single-action variants provide lower net thrusts.

 

 

 

Furthermore, their dimensions may increase with higher supplied air pressure and required stroke.

Double-action actuators with a return spring may provide a valuable balance: the full thrust of air pressure on one side of the piston is partly countered by a compressed spring and partly by the air pressure on the piston's opposite side. For achieving fail-safe action, there is no need for intricate or unreliable pneumatic equipment. Additionally, the net thrust of air pressure is only reduced slightly by the spring's force, preserving overall performance.

PRESSURE/TEMPERATURE RATING
With an adept design accommodating an 8 bar rating as both the optimal supply pressure and the threshold for ensuring the seamless operation of sliding piston seals, our actuators promise top-notch performance. Beyond this, each actuator undergoes a rigorous hydrostatic test at 10.5 bar before it reaches your hands. The temperature limitations for sustained operation at this 8 bar pressure can be found in our comprehensive table of materials.

ACTUATOR BODY
The heart of our actuator, the cylinder, is precision-engineered from a steel tube of the highest quality.
Meticulously lapped, then adorned with a layer of chromium, the interior surface is polished to perfection for optimal performance.
Crafted from either aluminum or steel, the actuator heads are available in a variety of designs to seamlessly meet valve assembly needs or operations

with options like a fork on the upper or lower head, perfect for pivoting assemblies-ideal for operating butterfly valves.
Additionally, a flange option is available for robust assembly on valve yokes, making it perfect for actuating globe or angle valves.

PISTON
Crafted from high-strength steel, the piston is equipped with either one (S.A.) or two (D.A.) rubber sealing rings, complemented by two (S.A.) or one (D.A.) loaded-teflon guiding skid, ensuring top-tier sealing and guidance.

STEM
Our precision-machined stainless steel stem is expertly ground, rolled, and threaded at the exposed end. It seamlessly connects to the valve stem via a two-piece, bored and threaded block, securely clamping the ends together.
Guided by a double bronze bushing in the lower head, the stem is safeguarded with a felt ring and a sealing ring (not included in S.A. direct-acting actuators) to ensure no leakage occurs.
