The versatile 1-X400 series linear stroke piston-type pneumatic actuators are available in both double-acting and single-acting variants. When paired with linear stroke valves, they effortlessly handle both regulation and on-off control duties. Furnished with precision accessories like pneumatic control valves, quick exhaust valves, and pneumatic actuators, they are capable of executing swift cutoffs, with nimble cutoff durations of 1S, 2S, 3S, and 4S, among other options.</sup>

The single-action (S.A.) actuators feature a spring-opposed piston that is activated by air pressure. They offer the remarkable benefit of a straightforward fail-safe action: in the event of air pressure failure, the compressed spring load surpasses the pressure load, thereby moving the stem to open or to close the valve port as per the desired fail-safe action, ensuring excellent stability even when the load on the plug fluctuates.

 

 

 

Conversely, when compared to double-action (D.A.) actuators, single-action actuators exhibit lower net thrusts and tend to increase in overall dimensions as supplied air pressure and required stroke increase.

Double-action actuators with a return spring present an exceptional compromise: the full force of the air pressure on one side of the piston is intelligently counterbalanced by both a compressed spring and the air pressure on the opposing side of the piston. Achieving a fail-safe action becomes hassle-free, eliminating the need for cumbersome and unreliable pneumatic systems, and, moreover, the net thrust from air pressure is only partially diminished by the spring's force.

PRESSURE/TEMPERATURE RATING

Each actuator undergoes rigorous hydrostatic testing at an impressive 10.5 bar before it reaches your hands. ACTUATOR BODY
Crafted with precision, the cylinder emerges from a meticulously honed steel tube.
The inside surface boasts a high level of refinement with a lapped, chromium-plated, and polished finish.
Whether you seek aluminum or steel cast, the two heads are tailored in various styles to harmonize perfectly with valve assembly needs or

with options like a fork on either head to facilitate pivoting assemblies, ideal for actuating butterfly valves,
or with a more robust flange for steadfast assembly on valve yokes, perfect for driving globe or angle valves with precision.

PISTON
Constructed from high-strength steel, the piston is equipped with one (S.A.) or two (D.A.) durable rubber sealing rings. It features two (S.A.) or one (D.A.) loaded-Teflon guiding skids for smooth operation.

STEM
Masterfully machined from stainless steel, the stem is ground, rolled, and expertly threaded at the end. This ensures seamless connectivity with the actuator stem and valve stem through a meticulously designed two-piece, bored and threaded block that firmly clamps the screwed ends of the two stems.
The stem finds its guide in a robust double bronze bushing housed in the lower head, which also cleverly holds a felt ring for efficient stem wiping and a sealing ring (except for sophisticated S.A. direct-acting actuators) to effectively prevent leakage.
