SNT Our state-of-the-art drain valves boast remarkable versatility for continuous throttling control applications such as: boiler consistent drain operations, high-pressure vessel and reactor sampling, high-pressure discharge, and boiler feed pump bypass system release. They excel in high-pressure differential scenarios and heater to condenser drainage processes, often challenged by corrosion and high-velocity flashing. Conventional cutoff drain valves and even venturi valves often fail under these strenuous conditions.

The SNT drain valve redefines internal structure design paradigms with its innovative approach. The flow channel, ingeniously crafted between the valve core and cylindrical valve seat, features a smooth design to facilitate accelerated fluid flow. Upon reaching the valve seat's downstream, the chamber expands significantly. This expansion causes a strategic pressure drop, prompting rapid fluid expansion towards the flow center. Consequently, the fluid's energy swiftly disperses and evaporates, transitioning into a turbulent state. This efficient discharge process allows supersaturated fluid to form steam while cooling any residual liquid, exemplifying an optimal use of flash evaporation within liquid flow systems.

To cater to diverse device requirements, we manufacture valves across a comprehensive pressure range from ANSI 150 up to ANSI 2500. The standard size range for stop valves includes 3/4" (DN20), 1" (DN25), 1.1/2" (DN40), 2" (DN50), 2-1/2" (DN65) and 3" (DN80). SNT valves are primarily available in angular connection form, assuring uniform fluid flow. We also offer the through-way type stop valves. Depending on control requirements, valves are available with manual, pneumatic, and electric control options. Precision throttling is ensured through the utilization of the Fluent-Code computational Fluid Dynamics for flow channel and pressure drop simulation and analysis, based on SNT's proprietary internal-design structure. All SNT internals are typically surface-hardened with premium Co-Ni based alloys or treated with Cr-N ceramic coatings to combat abrasion and corrosion from high pressure drops and flow conditions.

As shown in the figure on the left, according to ASME B31.1 Power Boilers and Piping, intermittent drain valves are usually used in Zone 2 and are installed directly in boiler or boiler piping. There are also continuous drain valves, traps, and safety valves, etc., ensuring comprehensive system management.
According to §122.1.4 of ASME B31.1 Power Boilers and Piping, the piping is usually fitted with 2 valves in series, a Y-type intermittent drain valve and an emergency stop valve.

The intermittent drain valve usually adopts the lever type rapid discharge mechanism, which can realize the rapid opening and closing, ensuring swift response to operational demands. When the valve is opened, the sediment, dirt, and other particles at the bottom of the boiler can be discharged quickly, no more than 3S. If the time is too long, a large amount of boiler water will be discharged, resulting in a great waste of resources. The flow channel is close to the straight pipeline, maximizing efficiency.

The emergency stop valve is used to realize the strict cut-off of the pipeline and prevent the waste of resources when the previous intermittent drain valve fails, ensuring an additional layer of protection and efficiency for your high-temperature systems.
