Compared to their membrane-type counterparts with similar specifications, these actuators deliver superior thrust. Boasting a straightforward structure, a featherweight design, and a compact form, they epitomize a high-performance pneumatic linear stroke actuator solution.

The versatile 1-X400 series linear stroke piston-type pneumatic actuators are available in both double-acting and single-acting models. When paired with linear stroke valves, these actuators are perfect for regulation or on-off control tasks. Outfitted with essential accessories such as pneumatic control valves, quick exhaust valves, and pneumatic actuators, they ensure swift cutoffs, achieving cutoff times as rapid as 1S, 2S, 3S and 4S, among other levels.</sup>

Single-action (S.A.) actuators feature a spring-opposed piston that is actuated by air pressure. They excel in offering a straightforward fail-safe action: if air pressure fails, the resilient spring load triumphs over the pressure load and moves the stem to the open or close position according to the designated fail-safe action, while also providing impressive stability when the load on the plug fluctuates.

 

 

 

In contrast, while double-action (D.A.) actuators tend to exhibit reduced net thrusts, their dimensions expand correspondingly with increases in supplied air pressure and required stroke.

Double-action actuators integrated with a return spring present a remarkable compromise: the immense thrust produced by the air pressure on one side of the piston is adeptly counterbalanced partly by a compressed spring and partly by the air pressure on the opposite side of the piston. Thus, to achieve a fail-safe action, there's no necessity for complex and less reliable pneumatic apparatus, and, furthermore, the net thrust from air pressure is only marginally reduced by the spring thrust.

PRESSURE/TEMPERATURE RATING
Experience unparalleled safety and reliability with our actuators, rated to perform at an optimal supply pressure of 8 bar. This same pressure also delineates the stringent limit we set for the watertight integrity of our piston seals. Prior to delivery, each actuator undergoes rigorous hydrostatic testing at an impressive 10.5 bar to ensure maximum performance. For continuous service at 8 bar, temperature limits can be precisely referenced in our detailed materials table.

ACTUATOR BODY
The actuator's cylinder is meticulously crafted from high-precision steel tubing, epitomizing durability and accuracy.
To ensure flawless performance, the interior surface of the cylinder is expertly lapped, chromium-plated, and polished to perfection.
The actuator features two meticulously cast heads, available in either aluminum or steel. These heads come in a range of shapes, designed to meet diverse assembly requirements on valves or for dynamic operations.

Choose heads with a fork for pivoting assemblies, ideal for actuating butterfly valves with precision.
Opt for heads with a flange for secure, rigid assembly on valve yokes, perfectly suited for actuating globe or angle valves with ease and efficiency.

PISTON
Our pistons are engineered from high-strength steel, equipped with either one (S.A.) or two (D.A.) robust rubber sealing rings. Additionally, they feature two (S.A.) or one (D.A.) loaded-Teflon guiding skids to enhance stability and performance.

STEM
The stem, crafted from premium stainless steel, is precision-machined, ground, rolled, and expertly threaded to excel in durability. Its connection to the valve stem is secured with a robust, two-piece bored and threaded block, ensuring a steadfast grip on the screwed ends of both stems.
For unmatched guidance, the stem is supported by a double bronze bushing within the lower head, which also houses a felt ring for wiping and a sealing ring to prevent any leakage, except in S.A. direct-acting actuators, where leakage prevention is inherently maintained.
