Simultaneously, an alternate pathway through the pressure tube, particularly for steam with a condenser, leads the medium into the actuator. Should the post-valve pressure rise, the enhanced force on the diaphragm compresses the spring, precisely driving the spool to decrease valve opening, until the pressure resumes its set value.
