These versatile 1-X400 series actuators are available in both double-acting and single-acting configurations. Seamlessly integrated with linear stroke valves, they excel in regulation or on-off control tasks. Equipped with advanced accessories like pneumatic control valves, quick exhaust valves, and pneumatic actuators, they ensure rapid and efficient cutoffs, offering cutoff times of 1S, 2S, 3S, and 4S among other options, catering to various operational needs.</sup>

Single-action (S.A.) actuators are designed with a spring-opposed piston that is actuated by air pressure. They provide the distinct advantage of a reliable fail-safe action-when air pressure fails, the compressed spring load triumphs over the pressure load, effectively moving the stem to open or close the valve port as per the required fail-safe action-ensuring excellent stability even when the load on the plug varies, making them highly dependable.

 

 

 

In contrast, double-action (D.A.) actuators provide lower net thrusts but are compact, expanding in size with increased air pressure and required stroke.

Double-action actuators with return spring present a great balance: they harness the full thrust of air pressure on one side of the piston, counteracted partly by a compressed spring and partially by the air pressure on the opposite side of the piston, offering a harmonious operation. To achieve a fail-safe action, there is no necessity for complex and less reliable pneumatic apparatus. Furthermore, the net thrust of air pressure is only minimally reduced by the spring thrust, enhancing reliability and performance.

DESIGN DETAILS

PRESSURE/TEMPERATURE RATING
Our Precision Engineered Pneumatic Piston Actuator is meticulously crafted to operate at an impressive 8 bar, establishing both the rated supply pressure for the cylinder and ensuring the sliding seals' tightness around the piston. Each unit undergoes rigorous hydrostatic testing at 10.5 bar before it leaves our facility, guaranteeing unmatched reliability. The table of materials provides the temperature limits for continuous operation at 8 bar, ensuring optimal performance under all conditions.

ACTUATOR BODY
The cylinder is expertly crafted from high-quality precision steel tubing, ensuring durability and performance.
Its interior surface is expertly lapped, then chromium-plated and polished to a flawless finish, enhancing both efficiency and longevity.
The actuator is completed with two heads, available in aluminum or steel castings, offered in various shapes to seamlessly integrate with valves or other assemblies needed for operation.

They can be configured with a fork on either the upper or lower head, allowing for versatile pivoting assemblies, ideal for applications such as actuating butterfly valves.
Additionally, options include a flange for secure attachment on valve yokes, perfect for the precise actuation of globe or angle valves.

PISTON
Constructed from high-strength steel, the piston is equipped with either a single (S.A.) or dual (D.A.) rubber sealing rings, complemented by two (S.A.) or one (D.A.) durable teflon guiding skids, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.

STEM
Our stem is precision-machined from robust stainless steel rods, ground, rolled, and expertly threaded on the exposed end. The actuator stem is ingeniously connected to the valve stem via a two-piece, bored and threaded block, securing the screwed ends of both stems for optimized performance.
A double bronze bushing in the lower head precisely guides the stem, while it harbors a felt ring to thoroughly wipe the stem, and a sealing ring, except for S.A. direct-acting actuators, to effectively prevent leakage.
