Figure 1a showcases a dynamic system designed to masterfully control the post-control valve pressure regulator, operating in a pressure-closed mode. The innovative mechanism works as follows: the medium serenely flows into the valve body, adhering to the direction of the arrow, and is then elegantly channeled out by the valve seat and spool following a precise throttling process. Meanwhile, an alternate path via the pressure tube (enhanced with a condenser in the case of steam) introduces the medium into the actuator, acting decisively on the diaphragm. This orchestrates a strategic displacement of the spool, achieving the dual objectives of pressure reduction and stabilization. Should the post-valve pressure surge, the increased force on the diaphragm compresses the spring, expertly driving the spool to reduce the valve opening until desired equilibrium is restored at the predetermined pressure. Figure 1b illustrates the regulator engineered to exquisitely manage the pressure in front of the valve, with a pressure-open operational mode. The system's principle of action is as follows: the medium gracefully enters the valve body, guided by the arrow's direction, then seamlessly exits through the valve seat and spool after precise throttling. In a parallel route, the medium travels via the pressure tube (accompanied by a condenser in the event of steam), entering the actuator to engage the diaphragm and induce a calculated displacement of the spool. This process ensures effective pressure relief and stabilization. If the pressure ahead of the valve climbs, the diaphragm force escalates, compressing the spring, and the spool is encouraged to expand the valve opening until pressure is harmoniously reduced to the target value. In scenarios where the pressure ahead of the valve diminishes, the diaphragm force wanes, and the spring's reaction force skillfully reduces the valve opening until pressure is elevated to the desired level. Notably, if the pressure ahead of the valve falls below the established value, the valve remains resolutely closed.
