When compared to membrane-type linear stroke actuators of similar specifications, the 1-X400 series stands out by delivering impressive thrust. Its simple structure, lightweight nature, and compact design render it a high-performing pneumatic linear stroke actuator, setting new standards in efficiency and reliability.

The 1-X400 series linear stroke piston-type pneumatic actuators are versatile, available in both double-acting and single-acting configurations. When paired with linear stroke valves, they are adept at regulation or on-off control. With the inclusion of auxiliary components such as pneumatic control valves, quick exhaust valves, and pneumatic actuators, they achieve rapid cutoffs with precision, offering timed cutoffs of 1S, 2S, 3S, and 4S, as well as other tailored levels.</sup>

Single-action (S.A.) actuators showcase an efficient design, featuring a spring-opposed piston that is activated by air pressure. They provide a straightforward fail-safe action; in the event of air pressure failure, the compressed spring load triumphs over the pressure load, maneuvering the stem to open or to close the valve port according to the desired fail-safe action, while ensuring remarkable stability when the load on the plug experiences fluctuations.

 

 

 

In contrast, double-action (D.A.) actuators offer a different perspective, as they exhibit lower net thrusts. However, their overall dimensions tend to increase progressively with rising supplied air pressure and required stroke.

Double-action actuators with return spring present an excellent compromise: the air pressure's full thrust on one side of the piston is counterbalanced partially by a compressed spring and additionally by the air pressure on the opposing side of the piston. Thus, to attain a fail-safe action, there is no necessity for intricate and less reliable pneumatic apparatus. Moreover, the net thrust of air pressure is only slightly diminished by the spring thrust, offering enhanced reliability.

PRESSURE/TEMPERATURE RATING
Our robust actuators are engineered for peak performance, boasting an 8-bar rating that not only ensures optimal supply pressure but also guarantees tight sealing of the sliding piston seals. Rigorous hydrostatic testing at 10.5 bar before delivery is conducted to ensure quality. For continuous service at 8 bar, temperature limits are meticulously detailed in our materials table, providing peace of mind and operational clarity.

ACTUATOR BODY
The cylinder is meticulously crafted from a precision steel tube, ensuring durability and reliability in every application.
The interior surface is expertly lapped, chromium-plated, and polished to perfection, enhancing performance and longevity.
Our actuator features expertly cast aluminium or steel heads, available in various shapes to flawlessly integrate with any valve assembly or operation requirements,

including options with forks on either head for pivoting assemblies, ideal for actuating butterfly valves,
and precision flanges ensuring robust assembly on valve yokes, perfect for actuating globe or angle valves.

PISTON
The piston, constructed from high-strength steel, is fitted with exceptional quality rubber sealing rings (S.A. or D.A.) and a guiding skid engineered with loaded-teflon, ensuring seamless operation and unparalleled efficiency.

STEM
The stem is a masterful creation, machined from a stainless steel rod. It is expertly ground, rolled, and threaded to perfection for seamless integration outside the cylinder. It's securely connected to the valve stem with a precision two-piece block that is both bored and threaded, ensuring a firm and reliable hold of the stems.
The stem's guidance is enhanced by a double bronze bushing situated in the lower head, which also contains a felt ring to maintain cleanliness and a sealing ring (with exceptions for S.A. direct-acting actuators), providing superior leak prevention.
