Unlike traditional valves, the robust and durable SNT valve is meticulously crafted for continuous drain operations that otherwise wreak havoc on standard valves. In these demanding scenarios, where high flow rates and severe erosion are common, the SNT valve outshines conventional cutoff drain valves and even the traditionally fragile venturi valves.
The innovative SNT drain valve revolutionizes conventional internal structure design concepts. The seamless flow channel between the valve core and cylindrical valve seat ensures a fluid journey that accelerates until reaching the downstream side of the valve seat, where the chamber expands significantly. This design induces a pressure drop at the flow channel's center, causing the fluid to rapidly expand toward the center. During this process, the energy of the fluid swiftly disperses and evaporates, transitioning into a turbulent state. This efficient discharge process is critical for enabling the fluid to form steam upon supersaturation, simultaneously cooling the remaining liquid-an exemplary use of flash evaporation in liquid dynamics.
To cater to the diverse requirements of different devices, we offer valve production across a pressure range from ANSI 150 to ANSI 2500. Our standard stop valve sizes include 3/4" (DN20), 1" (DN25), 1.1/2" (DN40), 2" (DN50), 2-1/2" (DN65), and 3" (DN80). The SNT valve is designed in a standard angular connection form, ensuring a smooth and uniform fluid flow. Additionally, through-way type stop valves are available. Depending on the control requirements, they can be configured as manual, pneumatic, or electric. For precise throttling control, we utilize the Fluent-Code from Computational Fluid Dynamics to simulate and analyze the flow channel and its pressure drop, based on the SNT's internal design structure. To combat abrasion and corrosion due to high pressure drops and flow rates, all SNT internal components are usually surface-hardened with premium Co-Ni-based alloys or treated with Cr-N ceramic coatings, ensuring unmatched durability and longevity. As shown in the figure on the left, according to ASME B31.1 Power Boilers and Piping, intermittent drain valves are usually used in Zone 2 and are installed directly in boiler or boiler piping. There are also continuous drain valves, traps, and safety valves, etc. These configurations are crucial for maintaining efficient and safe boiler operations.
According to §122.1.4 of ASME B31.1 Power Boilers and Piping, the piping is usually fitted with 2 valves in series, a Y-type intermittent drain valve and an emergency stop valve. This setup ensures robust control and safety in boiler systems.
The intermittent drain valve usually adopts the lever type rapid discharge mechanism, which can realize the rapid opening and closing. Its design ensures that sediments and impurities are expelled efficiently, maintaining system integrity. When the valve is opened, the sediment, dirt, and other particles at the bottom of the boiler can be discharged quickly, in less than 3 seconds, minimizing water loss and enhancing resource efficiency. The flow channel mimics a straight pipeline for effective discharge.
The emergency stop valve is used to realize the strict cut-off of the pipeline and prevent the waste of resources when the previous intermittent drain valve fails. This safeguard measure is vital for maintaining operational safety and preventing unnecessary resource expenditure.
