The versatile 1-X400 series linear stroke piston-type pneumatic actuators are expertly crafted to be available in both double-acting and single-acting configurations. When paired with linear stroke valves, they excel in both regulation and on-off control. Enhanced with top-tier accessories such as pneumatic control valves and quick exhaust valves, they are engineered for rapid cutoffs, achieving precision cutoff times of 1S, 2S, 3S, and 4S, among other customizable levels.</sup>

Single-action (S.A.) actuators feature a spring-opposed piston that is actuated by air pressure, offering a seamless fail-safe action. In the event of air pressure failure, the compressed spring load triumphs over the pressure load, moving the stem to either open or close the valve port based on the designated fail-safe action, all while maintaining exceptional stability even when the load on the plug varies, ensuring consistent performance.

 

 

 

Conversely, when compared to double-action (D.A.) actuators, single-action varieties may exhibit lower net thrusts, and their overall dimensions increase progressively with the rise in supplied air pressure and required stroke.

Double-action actuators, enhanced with a return spring, provide an ideal balance: the full thrust of the air pressure on one side of the piston is harmoniously counterbalanced by a compressed spring and the air pressure on the opposite side of the piston, achieving remarkable equilibrium. To obtain a fail-safe action, there is no need for complex and less reliable pneumatic apparatus. Furthermore, the net thrust of air pressure is only marginally diminished by the spring thrust, ensuring optimal efficiency.

PRESSURE/TEMPERATURE RATING
The Reliable Performance Pneumatic Piston Actuator is engineered for precision and durability, with a rated supply pressure of 8 bar - the benchmark for both cylinder performance and the integrity of sliding seals. Every actuator undergoes rigorous hydrostatic testing at 10.5 bar to ensure superior reliability. Furthermore, our temperature guidelines for continuous operation at 8 bar are meticulously outlined in the materials table, guaranteeing optimal performance.

ACTUATOR BODY
Crafted with precision, the actuator's cylinder is forged from a high-grade steel tube.
Its interior is expertly lapped, then chromium-plated and polished to a flawless finish.
The aluminum or steel cast heads are available in diverse configurations to cater to specific assembly requirements on various valves or for operational

use with a fork on either head for pivoting assemblies, ideal for actuating butterfly valves
with a robust flange for secure attachment to valve yokes, suitable for activating globe or angle valves with precision.

PISTON
High-strength steel forms the core of the piston, equipped with one (S.A.) or two (D.A.) durable rubber sealing rings, and complemented with two (S.A.) or one (D.A.) advanced loaded-teflon guiding skids for seamless, efficient operation.

STEM
The stem is crafted from premium stainless steel, meticulously machined, ground, rolled, and threaded at the exposed end. It's seamlessly connected to the valve stem through a dual-piece, bored and threaded block that securely clamps the threaded ends of both stems.
Guided by a dual bronze bushing in the lower head, the stem also benefits from an integrated felt ring for cleaning and a protective sealing ring (excluding S.A. direct-acting models) to ensure no leakage occurs.
