About SNT Butterfly Valves


In recent years, With the improvement of industry and the requirements of energy conservation and environmental protection policy, the cut-off butterfly valve has been more and more widely used. In the prior technology, the tri-eccentric butterfly valve belongs to torque sealing, and the valve plate is closed more tightly by the torque of the actuator to achieve the sealing effect. However, in some special occasions (such as high temperature catalytic flue gas, gas, sulfur tail gas and other media, the temperature reaches 800°C), due to the existence of thermal expansion stress, the valve will not be able to open, easy to cause serious consequences such as tri-eccentric butterfly valve stuck, affecting industrial production, causing huge economic losses, and even cause safety accidents.


SNT VALVE is specialized in the research of high temperature flue gas device butterfly valve. For the above problems, SNT VALVE proposed to use four-stem eccentric butterfly valve instead of tri-eccentric butterfly valve and aeration butterfly valve as a solution in the industry for the first time, successfully solved the problem for many years, applied for two national patents: a four-stem eccentric butterfly valve (patent No.: ZL201520326489.1 and catalytic device with four-stem eccentric butterfly valve (patent No.: ZL201921719624.3), and commissioned China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation wot conduct product identification with Changzhou University, which was awarded as the domestic leader.

Four-link Eccentric Butterfly Valve Application

The AOC-4000 series four-link eccentric butterfly valve, designed by SNT, is widely used as a special condition regulating and shut-off valve.
The AOC-4000 series four-link eccentric butterfly valve is an engineering marvel designed for demanding scenarios such as high-temperature environments, large-diameter pipelines, and settings requiring high flow rates with minimal pressure drops. This valve excels in maintaining low to zero leakage, thanks to its superior planar sealing capabilities that prevent valve jamming even under intense heat. Rapid opening and closing, coupled with high precision in adjustment and dependable sealing, make this valve an ideal choice for regulating or shutting off media within pipelines, particularly in the production of phthalic anhydride and maleic anhydride. Additionally, it is versatile enough for managing other gases and liquids, including hydrogen, ammonia, air, smoke, and various gases within pipeline networks. For media with a tendency to crystallize, such as sulfur, an innovative jacketed structure is available to thwart pipeline blockages due to cooling and condensation during flow.

The AOC-4000 series four-link eccentric butterfly valve is customarily paired with a cylinder-type single-acting actuator, renowned for its efficiency. Nonetheless, if specific operational requirements dictate, alternatives like cylinder-type double-acting actuators, electric actuators, and hydraulic actuators are also available, providing flexibility in application. The valve boasts an impressive minimum shut-off time, ranging from as swift as 2 seconds to a maximum of 6 seconds, ensuring rapid response and control in critical systems.

Working Principle

The four-link butterfly valve is ingeniously constructed, comprising a drive device, valve plate, valve body, valve shaft, a sophisticated linkage system, and shaft end seals. The drive device is the heart of the operation, propelling the valve shaft and the four-link mechanism into action. As the valve shaft rotates, it seamlessly opens the valve plate, achieving a fully open state when the plate aligns parallel to the pipeline's center. Conversely, the reverse rotation of the shaft results in the closure of the valve plate, attaining a fully closed position once the plate contacts and compresses against the sealing surface of the valve body. This intricate mechanism ensures precise control and efficient sealing throughout its operation.
