The versatile 1-X400 series linear stroke piston-type pneumatic actuators are designed to accommodate both double-acting and single-acting configurations. Equipped with state-of-the-art accessories such as pneumatic control valves, quick exhaust valves, and robust pneumatic actuators, these devices enable rapid cutoffs, achieving cutoff times as swift as 1S, 2S, 3S and 4S, among other levels, ensuring precise and efficient operation.</sup>

Single-action (S.A.) actuators consist of a powerful spring-opposed piston, adeptly actuated by air pressure. They offer the distinct advantage of a straightforward fail-safe action; when air pressure fails, the compressed spring load triumphs over the pressure load, moving the stem to either open or to close the valve port as per the required fail-safe action, while maintaining excellent stability even when the load on the plug varies, ensuring dependable performance.

 

 

 

Conversely, when comparing to double-action (D.A.) actuators, single-action actuators exhibit lower net thrusts. However, as the supplied air pressure and required stroke increase, the overall dimensions of single-action actuators tend to grow.

Double-action actuators with a return spring present an appealing compromise: the complete thrust provided by air pressure on one side of the piston is ingeniously balanced partly by a compressed spring and partly by the air pressure on the opposite side of the piston, ensuring seamless functionality. To achieve a fail-safe action, there is no necessity for complex and less reliable pneumatic apparatus. Furthermore, the net thrust of air pressure is only marginally curtailed by the spring thrust, optimizing performance.

Each unit is rigorously hydrostatically tested at 10.5 bar before it leaves our facility, guaranteeing peak performance and reliability. ACTUATOR BODY
The cylinder boasts exceptional craftsmanship, precisely engineered from a high-grade steel tube.
Its interior is meticulously lapped, chromium-plated, and flawlessly polished for superior performance.
Engineered with versatility in mind, the two heads are cast in durable aluminium or steel. They come in multiple configurations to seamlessly integrate with various valve assemblies.

Whether you require pivoting assemblies with a fork on the upper or lower head for applications such as butterfly valves,
or a robust flange for solid assembly on valve yokes, ideal for globe or angle valve actuation, our designs are tailored for precision.

PISTON
Crafted from high-strength steel, the piston is equipped with one (S.A.) or two (D.A.) durable rubber sealing rings, complemented by two (S.A.) or one (D.A.) resilient loaded-teflon guiding skids for optimal motion control.

STEM
Expertly machined from stainless steel, the stem is precision-ground, rolled, and threaded at its exposed end. It seamlessly connects to the valve stem using a dual-piece, bored and threaded block, securely clamping the threaded ends of both stems.
The stem is precisely guided by a dual bronze bushing housed in the lower head, which also holds a felt ring to meticulously clean the stem and includes a sealing ring (excluding S.A. direct-acting actuators) to efficiently prevent leakage.
