Actuator Features

 

Figure 1a, an essential component for controlling the post-control valve pressure regulator, showcases a pressure-closed valve action mode. Its operational principle is ingeniously designed: as the medium enters the valve body following the arrow's direction, it undergoes a precise throttling process via the valve seat and spool. Simultaneously, through the pressure tube (with steam media supplemented by a condenser), the medium is channeled into the actuator to engage the diaphragm. This interaction prompts a corresponding spool displacement, efficiently achieving pressure reduction and stabilization. In scenarios where the post-valve pressure escalates, the diaphragm's force intensifies, compressing the spring. This action drives the spool to adjust the valve opening, precisely maintaining the desired pressure. Conversely, a decrease in post-valve pressure lessens the diaphragm's force, allowing the spring's reaction to guide the spool, expanding the valve opening to recalibrate the pressure to the prescribed level.

 

Figure 1b depicts a regulator dedicated to managing upstream valve pressure, embodying a pressure-open valve action mode. The operational principle is intricately crafted: the medium adheres to the arrow's guidance, entering the valve body and skillfully traversing the valve seat and spool after throttle. Additionally, through the pressure tube (when utilized with steam and a condenser), the medium activates the diaphragm within the actuator, triggering a calculated spool displacement for effective pressure relief and stabilization. An increase in pre-valve pressure amplifies the diaphragm's force, compressing the spring and prompting the spool to increase the valve opening, returning the pressure to its set level. Conversely, a decrease in pre-valve pressure diminishes the diaphragm's force, allowing the spring's counterforce to adjust the spool, reducing the valve opening until the pressure rises to the desired setting. Notably, if pre-valve pressure remains below the set threshold, the valve is programmed to remain closed.
