Available in versatile configurations, the 1-X400 series includes both double-acting and single-acting options. When paired with linear stroke valves, they excel in regulation or on-off control applications. Their adeptness is further enhanced by accessories such as pneumatic control valves and quick exhaust valves, enabling swift cutoff capabilities with precision timing options of 1S, 2S, 3S, and 4S, providing multiple levels of operational efficiency.</sup>

Single-action (S.A.) actuators are ingeniously designed with a spring-opposed piston actuated by air pressure, ensuring a straightforward fail-safe action. In the event of air pressure loss, the compressed spring load triumphs over the pressure load, swiftly moving the stem to either open or close the valve port based on the desired fail-safe action, while maintaining excellent stability even when the load on the plug fluctuates. This reliability is a hallmark of single-action designs.

 

 

 

In contrast, double-action (D.A.) actuators exhibit different dynamics. While they provide lower net thrusts, their dimensions increase with rising air pressure and required stroke.

Double-action actuators with return springs present an ingenious compromise: they harness the full thrust of air pressure on one side of the piston, while equilibrating it partly with a compressed spring and partly with air pressure on the opposite side of the piston. Achieving a fail-safe action with this configuration eliminates the need for complex and less reliable pneumatic apparatuses, ensuring smooth operation, and importantly, the net thrust of air pressure is only partially diminished by the spring thrust, optimizing performance.

PRESSURE/TEMPERATURE RATING
Our Precision Pneumatic Piston Actuator is engineered to endure and excel under challenging conditions. With a rated supply pressure of 8 bar, this actuator guarantees the tightness of sliding seals of the piston, ensuring optimal performance. Prior to delivery, each unit undergoes rigorous hydrostatic testing at 10.5 bar, confirming its reliability. The temperature limits for continuous service at 8 bar are meticulously specified in the materials table, ensuring that our actuator maintains its exceptional performance across various conditions.

ACTUATOR BODY
The actuator features a meticulously crafted cylinder, precision-engineered from a high-grade steel tube.
Its interior surface is expertly lapped, chrome-plated, and polished to perfection, ensuring seamless operation.
The actuator is completed with two durable heads, available in either aluminum or steel cast, offering a range of shapes tailored to meet diverse assembly requirements on valves.

These heads can be equipped with a fork for pivoting assemblies, ideal for actuating butterfly valves,
or with a flange for secure assembly on valve yokes, perfect for actuating globe or angle valves, providing versatility and adaptability in various applications.

PISTON
Crafted from high-strength steel, our piston is designed for reliable performance. It features one or two durable rubber sealing rings (S.A. or D.A.) and is accompanied by two or one loaded-teflon guiding skids (S.A. or D.A.), offering superior guidance and sealing efficiency.

STEM
Our actuator stem is fashioned from a robust stainless steel rod, meticulously ground, rolled, and threaded at the exposed end. It seamlessly connects to the valve stem through a precision-engineered two-piece, bored, and threaded block, ensuring secure fastening of both stems.
The stem benefits from guidance by a double bronze bushing, integrated into the lower head, which also houses a felt ring to cleanse the stem, and a sealing ring to prevent leakage, except in the case of S.A. direct-acting actuators, ensuring consistent performance.
