Actuator Features

 

Figure 1a illustrates a sophisticated mechanism that elegantly governs the post-control valve pressure regulator, specifically designed in a pressure-closed configuration. This intricate system operates on a seamless principle: as the medium flows gracefully into the valve body following the arrow's directive, it ventures through the valve seat and spool, undergoing precise throttling. Meanwhile, an alternate pathway via the pressure tube (especially when dealing with steam combined with a condenser) channels into the actuator, engaging the diaphragm. This interaction prompts the spool to execute a corresponding displacement, achieving a perfect balance of pressure reduction and stabilization. Should the pressure downstream of the valve surge, the diaphragm's force amplifies, compressing the spring and driving the spool to constrict the valve's aperture, ensuring the pressure retreats to the predefined level. Conversely, if the downstream pressure wanes, the diminishing force on the diaphragm, countered by the resilient spring, propels the spool to widen the valve opening until equilibrium is restored to the set pressure.

 

Figure 1b unveils a regulator meticulously crafted to command the pressure before the valve, operating in a pressure-open mode. This remarkable system follows a sophisticated method: the medium embarks on its journey into the valve body guided by the arrow, progressing through the valve seat and spool with intricate throttling. Simultaneously, via the pressure tube (especially in scenarios involving steam and condenser), the medium is introduced to the actuator, engaging the diaphragm and inducing the spool to undertake a corresponding displacement, thereby achieving precise pressure relief and stabilization. If the upstream pressure escalates, the diaphragm's force heightens, compressing the spring and compelling the spool to further open the valve, allowing the pressure to subside to the predetermined threshold. Similarly, a decrease in upstream pressure results in reduced diaphragm force, and the spring's reaction drives the spool, narrowing the valve opening until the pressure ascends to the set value. Notably, if the upstream pressure falls below the determined level, the valve remains steadfastly closed.

When deploying the versatile AOC-3111 type self-operated pressure regulating valve in systems handling gas or low viscosity liquid media, it is generally installed in an upright position on horizontal piping. Only consider an inverted or diagonal setup if spatial constraints demand it. For systems with confirmed clean media, optional part 3 may be omitted, enhancing installation efficiency.

 

In scenarios involving steam or high viscosity liquid media, the smart choice is to install the AOC-3111 type self-operated pressure regulating valve in an inverted position on horizontal piping. This configuration ensures optimal performance and reliability.
