Figure 1a: This sophisticated mechanism is engineered to control the pressure in the valve post-control scenario through its pressure-closed operation mode. Here's how it works: The medium elegantly flows into the valve body, guided by the direction of the arrow, and is skillfully moderated by the valve seat and spool, following a precise throttling process. Concurrently, the medium-when involving steam and a condenser-is channeled through the pressure tube, activating the diaphragm within the actuator. This prompts the spool to make a delicately calculated displacement, achieving seamless pressure reduction and stabilization. Should the pressure post-valve rise, the diaphragm experiences an increased force, leading to the compression of the spring and the subsequent movement of the spool, resulting in reduced valve opening until equilibrium is restored to the pre-set value. Figure 1b: The expertly crafted regulator is designed to meticulously manage the pressure preceding the valve, operating in a pressure-open configuration. The process unfolds as follows: The medium gracefully enters the valve body, adhering to the arrow's guidance, experiencing throttling at the valve seat and spool. Simultaneously, when combined with a condenser, the steam-laden medium is directed through the pressure tube into the actuator, acting upon the diaphragm and instigating precise spool displacement to accomplish pressure relief and stabilization. As the pressure in front of the valve escalates, the diaphragm's force increases, compressing the spring and urging the spool to expand the valve opening, effectively lowering the pressure to the specified set value. Conversely, if the pressure drops, the diaphragm's force wanes, enabling the spring's reactive push to command the spool, gradually diminishing the valve opening until the pressure rebounds to the optimal set value. Notably, if the pressure ahead of the valve lags behind the set value, the valve remains steadfastly closed.
