They boast a straightforward structure, are remarkably lightweight, and possess a compact design, making them a standout choice for high-performance pneumatic linear stroke applications.

Our 1-X400 series pneumatic actuators offer flexibility with both double-acting and single-acting configurations. Perfectly paired with linear stroke valves, they excel in both regulation and on-off control scenarios. With an array of accessories including pneumatic control valves, quick exhaust valves, and pneumatic actuators, these actuators ensure lightning-fast cutoffs, achieving cutoff times as swift as 1S, 2S, 3S, and 4S, catering to various operational demands.</sup>

Single-action (S.A.) actuators are designed with a spring-opposed piston actuated by air pressure, offering a seamless fail-safe action. In the event of air pressure loss, the compressed spring load triumphs over the pressure load, moving the stem to open or to close the valve port as per the required fail-safe action, ensuring robust stability even when the load on the plug fluctuates. This stability is a hallmark feature.

 

 

 

Conversely, while double-action (D.A.) actuators provide enhanced net thrusts, they tend to have increased overall dimensions as the supplied air pressure and required stroke rise.

Double-action actuators, equipped with a return spring, strike a valuable balance: the full thrust of air pressure applied to one side of the piston is partially offset by a compressed spring and partially by the air pressure on the opposite side. This mechanism ensures a reliable fail-safe action. To achieve a fail-safe operation, there is no need for complex and potentially unreliable pneumatic systems. Furthermore, the net thrust of air pressure is only slightly diminished by the spring's force, maintaining efficiency.

PRESSURE/TEMPERATURE RATING
With a robust design that ensures optimal performance, the Precision Control Pneumatic Piston Actuator operates efficiently at 8 bar, which aligns with both the rated supply pressure and the sealing integrity limit for piston sliding seals. Rest assured, all actuators undergo rigorous hydrostatic testing at 10.5 bar prior to dispatch, guaranteeing reliability and durability. Refer to the material table for temperature limitations for sustained operations.

ACTUATOR BODY
The actuator body features a cylinder expertly crafted from precision steel tubing, ensuring longevity and strength.
Inside, the surface is meticulously lapped, chromium-plated, and polished to perfection, enhancing both performance and aesthetic appeal.
The actuator's heads are constructed from either aluminum or steel castings, available in diverse shapes to perfectly accommodate various valve assemblies or operational needs.

For versatile functionality, utilize a fork on either the upper or lower head for pivoting assemblies, such as butterfly valve actuation.
With a sturdy flange, the actuator can be securely mounted on valve yokes, making it ideal for actuating globe or angle valves with precision.

PISTON
Constructed from high-strength steel, the piston features one (S.A.) or two (D.A.) rubber sealing rings alongside loaded-teflon guiding skid(s), ensuring smooth and efficient motion.

STEM
Crafted from premium stainless steel, the stem is precision-machined, ground, rolled, and threaded, ensuring seamless connection outside the cylinder. The actuator stem is ingeniously linked to the valve stem via a two-piece bored and threaded block, which secures the connection firmly.
The stem is guided with precision using a double bronze bushing in the lower head, which also accommodates a felt ring that cleans the stem and a sealing ring (with the exception of direct-acting S.A. actuators) to effectively prevent any leakage.
