Figure 1a illustrates the masterful engineering behind the post-control valve pressure regulator, operating in a pressure-closed mode. The action principle is ingeniously designed: as the medium flows into the valve body, following the arrow's guidance, it is splendidly regulated by the valve seat and spool through meticulous throttling. Simultaneously, the medium-augmented by a condenser if steam-is channeled via the pressure tube into the actuator, which exerts pressure upon the diaphragm. This nuanced interaction induces a strategic displacement of the spool, achieving precise pressure reduction and stabilization. Should the downstream pressure rise, the diaphragm experiences increased force, compressing the spring and moving the spool, thereby constricting the valve opening to maintain the desired pressure level. Figure 1b showcases a sophisticated regulator designed to manage the pressure preceding the valve, employing a pressure-open mode.
